Festivus 9: The one before 10

No, it’s not the one you’ve all be waiting for. Not yet anyway. A grievance in and of itself perhaps.

Having said that, Festivus 9 is almost here. It will arrive December 17th starting at 5pm and reaching all the way to the wee hours of the morning or whenever the hangers-on leave and/or pin me to the ground (whichever comes last.)

This year, as we buckle down and face the fact that number 9 can only be a waiting game for 10, we’re working our way back to our roots; festivus hats, aluminium poles, grievances. A Festivus of yesteryear so to speak.

So come one, come all who are invited. Bring some food, bring some complaints; let’s bagel!

And yes, we’re still doing this.

Festivus 8 Announced!

After even more deliberation than last year, and some conferring with senior Festivus contributors, Festivus 8 has been firmly scheduled for Saturday, December 18th, 2010.

While this pushes Festivus further away from the canonical 23rd, we hope that it will allow even more celebrants to come eat, grieve and giggle.

It’s the usual pot-luck affair from 5pm until. Until when? Until.

 

#7 – Another Festivus Miracle!

With an unprecedented turnout for an event to celebrate an imaginary holiday, on a Monday night, #7 turned out to be one of the best Festivus celebrations to date.

Planning for next year’s Festivus (8) has already begun, as well as long term planning for Festivus X.

Festivus 7 (2009) Announced

After much deliberation, it’s been decided that Festivus 2009, aka Festivus 7,  will be held on Monday, December 21st.

Starting at 5pm, it will follow the usual potluck and grievance pattern as well as the traditional Festivus artifacts exhibition. Pole and feats of strength without question.
